MOTIVATIONAL SESSION – HIGH ACHIEVERS:


Thiru S. Manimaran , Treasurer , SBIOA Educational Trust addressed the high achievers of Class XII on 12th October 2022 . He motivated them to focus on their studies to score high in the Board Exams .

WORKSHOP FOR FRENCH TEACHERS :


Mrs. Kanthishri Rajan participated in the workshop for French teachers organized by IATF, Institute Francais and Loyola college Chennai . The topic was ‘Use of creative games in French language teaching’.

UNO DAY :


In connection with UNO Day which falls on 24th October , Dept of Humanities conducted a variety of programmes .A special assembly programme was hosted on 17th October 2022 . It was graced by Sri. Murugan (Retd) IAF . He inspired young hearts by sharing his professional experiences and gave a soul stirring speech on UNO Motto and hunger eradication. A special song “ Heal the world ” was performed by school choir . ' Poster making competition' was conducted for the primary classes on the topic ' LIVING IN HARMONY' with 104 students participating enthusiastically.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY :


Special assembly was conducted on 20th October and students who secured the first three ranks for Trimester I exam from classes I to VIII , received merit certificates from our principal in-Charge, Mrs. Sunila Cherian and Compartment Head Mrs. C.J. Nalini.

WORLD POSTAL DAY :


In connection with this day, English department (Primary) conducted an activity for the students of std III to V, on 21st October 2022. Students were made to write a letter to their mother thanking her for all her love and affection and for being the world's best mom. The post cards were also posted to their mom.

DIWALI CELEBRATION – TINY TYROS :


Diwali festival was celebrated by Tiny Tyros kids. Children came gorgeously dressed and enjoyed watching bursting of crackers by the teachers. Sweets were distributed to the children . Children were instructed how to celebrate Diwali festival safely.

DIWALI CELEBRATION – KG :


KG Department celebrated Diwali on 21st October 2022 . The Tiny tots were instructed on the Do's and Dont's of Diwali celebration . UKG children performed a skit cum dance. Mrs. C.J. Nalini , our AHM and our KG A.S, Mrs. N.A. Mala appreciated and applauded the little ones.

RED DAY – TINY TYROS :


The children of Tiny Tyros celebrated Red Day on 28th October 2022 . Children and the teachers were dressed in red. Classes were decorated with red objects and flash cards. children became familiar with the colour and learnt its related objects.

RETIREMENT FUNCTION :


Retirement function was held in the main campus lobby on 31st October to honour the retiree Mrs.Sunandha Elangovan . The correspondent Mr.Nithish A R Singh presided over the function.

LIBRARY ACTIVITIES :


Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Book Talk competitions ( in both English and Tamil) were conducted in the Library for the students of classes IX to XII on 19th and 20th October 2022.

AWARDS :


Dr. S. Sundararaman , Academic Supervisor , Dept. of Tamil received the ‘Dhina Malar Latchiya Aasiriyar Award’ on 15th October 2022 .

WORLD SPACE WEEK :


World Space Week organized by Satish Dawan Space Research Center, Sriharikotta conducted various competitions and our students won many prizes

VARNOTSAV – 2022 ART COMPETITION :


Thavasree VI B secured III place in ‘VARNOTSAV-2022’ Art competition conducted by Madras Christian College Hr. Sec. School on 28th of October.

SBOANZA – INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION :


An Inter school mega competition was organized by SBOA Junior College on 28th & 29th October 2022. A variety of competitions were held under different categories such as block and tackle, Surfing channels, Green screen, group dance, Adzap, etc .Students of our school from Class IX to XII participated and won many prizes .Western Band – I Place , Unplugged Cover – III Place , Mono Acting III Place , Dance – III Place , Creative Writing – II Place , Film Making – I Place , Ramp Walk – I Place , Painting – II Place and Best Vocalist Award – Reshma.V XII I .

OUTREACH PROGRAMME :
RALLY ON SAFE DIWALI :


The Student Rally was taken out as a part of creating awareness on celebrating Safe Diwali. An introduction was given by Sharon followed by an elegant Mangala Oli Veesum Deepavali dance performed by students of class VI & VII. A short tableau on Safe & Green Diwali was performed by students of class 8. The theme was to spark the importance of using Green crackers and also the safety rules to be followed while bursting them. It all ended well with a hope that this Diwali will be a smoke free and Noiseless festival cherished by all.

JOY OF GIVING :


S.B.O.A. Matriculation & Hr. Sec. School, Chennai celebrated Diwali, festival of lights in a special way by expressing our happiness by bringing smiles to few underprivileged children and senior citizens. On 21st of October groceries collected from students were distributed to orphanages and Old age homes in a special assembly programme . Mr. Manimaran, Treasurer, SBIOA Educational Trust, Dr. Nithish A.R. Singh, correspondent , Mrs. Sunila Cherian, Principal in-charge along with teachers and students distributed the groceries to 50 orphanages. The previous day students along with teachers went personally to few of the orphanages to donate provisions. It is an act of sharing the emotion which is inculcated in the minds of the students right from young age.

GUIDES & SCOUTS CAMP


The Rajyapuraskar Scouts and Guides participated in the Patrol Leaders Training Camp conducted by the Bharath Scouts and Guides, Ambathur District, at Kalaimagal Vidhyashram, Annanur. The students benefited to a great extent from the experiences gathered during the camp .

RYLA CAMP :


Around 26 students attended RYLA camp at Maharishi International Residential School on 15th & 16th of October and won many prizes. Our school secured First Place in Group Dance, First Place in Solo dance and Second Place in Quiz. Alan Samuel Raja E. of VIII D and Md. Ryan of VIII C received Special Prize. Our school team won over all Runner-Up trophy.

SPORTS :
REVENUE DISTRICT COMPETITIONS


School Education Department conducted Revenue District Competitions. Shivani P.R. of class VII secured first place in Long Jump. S. Lalithran of VII A - secured First place and Kaaviyan of VI B secured Third Place in Boys singles and doubles tournament. S. Swathi and P.I. Mohitha of VIII A are the winners of Girls badminton singles and doubles winners.
Under 17 category Deepika and Mithubala of XI C are the winners in doubles lawn Tennis Divisional tournament which was held at Nungambakkam stadium. Under 19 Girls category N.A Saranya of XII B won the II place in Revenue District Badminton singles . N.A Saranya of XII B and K. Vardha keshini of XI D are the winners in Revenue District Badminton Doubles tournament . They are selected for the state level tournament . Under 19 boys category U.C Madhavan of XII K and V.Mervyn of XII D are the winners in Revenue District Badminton doubles tournament . They are selected for the state level tournament

TABLE TENNIS :


Chennai Revenue District conducted Table Tennis on 13th October 2022 . K. Umesh U-17 Singles Winner and Divesh - Runner Up.

LAWN TENNIS – DIVISIONAL :


Lawn tennis- divisional tournament was held at Rajarathnam stadium , Chennai and our students won prizes and the results of Divisional level Lawn Tennis tournament as follows :
